Practice Shots

Having never filmed anything on a train we decided to have a trail run before we shot anything with our actors as we didn't want our footage to be to be too shaky and throe un-useable. So one day in our frees Katie and I brought our tripod and my phone and filmed on multiple train lines so see if there was any difference in their smoothness and busyness. As it turns out all trains constantly vibrate and abruptly come to a sudden halt which meant that a lot of what we shot looked like earthquake footage. Additionally we also found that getting consistent shots on public transport is challenging due to the content flow of people.

We found it far easier to film on overground trains as they are sectioned off into smaller areas allowing us to disrupt fewer people. Furthermore the jolting was less intense as the distance between stops was longer.
